Il giorno 4 novembre 2011 intorno alle ore 09,00, come preannunciato dalle previsioni meteo, la città di Genova ha iniziato ad essere interessata da precipitazioni notevoli che si sono presto trasformate in eccezionali. Precipitazioni tipicamente rilasciate da cumulo nembi che si sono susseguiti fino intorno alle ore 14,30 circa. I pluviometri ARPAL e quelli di vari amatori hanno registrato valori di pioggia di oltre 400 mm tra le 9,30 e le 14,30 con picchi nella zona del bacino del Rio Fereggiano. Intorno alle 14,00 sarebbe iniziata l’esondazione del Rio nella zona dell’imboccatura nell’alveo strada che è stato realizzato per circa 1500 m fino allo sbocco nel T. Bisagno (Figure 1 e 2).
In questo periodo l’onda di piena ha invaso la strada sovrastante l’alveo causando cinque vittime.

• Strong familiarity with geodatabase concepts and objects
• Experience with large environment application installation deployments
• Proficiency in mapping APIs (e.g., ArcGIS, JavaScript/Flex); simple XML-based web services with geographic context (e.g., SOAP, REST, GeoRSS); and data/map services for use in GIS analysis (e.g., ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online; Open Geospatial Consortium WMS, WFS)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Descrizione del corso

Il Dr. Briant Kimball, idrogeologo, ricercatore presso l' U.S. Geological Survey in Salt Lake City, Utah (USA), presenta una metodologia applicata alla Geochimica Isotopica ambientale, in particolare un metodo applicativo di iniezione di traccianti e di campionamento, per poter determinare il contenuto di metalli nei sedimenti fluviali.

Verranno illustrate le modalità di utlizzo di traccianti isotopici, in riferimento a casi studio in Sardegna sud occidentale, dove è attualmente in atto un progetto sull'utilizzo degli isotopi dello Zinco nella zona di Monte Vecchio - Ingurtosu.

The YES Network has co-partnered with the American Geological Institute on exploring the question of how best to retain students through the student-to-professional continuum. We have explored this topic via our Decision Points Survey, through several roundtables at the EGU 2011 meeting, and online as a co-sponsor of the 18 April GeoConnection Webinar.

As a result of these discussions, we have created a targeted set of questions where we plan to use the responses to these questions in future presentations at national and international meetings as well as in future online roundtable discussions and presentations.
